The Greenroof constructed on the top of the Student Union building on the University of Central Florida campus is the first successful Greenroof in the State of Florida! Constructed in the spring semester of 2005, the Greenroof has reduced HVAC costs by about 20% for the Student Union Building, increased the rent of the space that looks out over the green roof by as much as $8 per sf, and reduced stormwater runoff on campus.
